PRIME TIME
(Music by Rob Wood / Lyrics by Steve McAndrew)

Verse 1
Get there's none then we're gonna have to make some
take that strange idea, don't leave it on it's lonesome
freedom of speech with it's many limitations
raises awareness of the cheaper imitations
information down a one way street
fact or fiction in their place compete
through printed page or via waves that fly
downright opposition or a my, oh my
it doesn't really matter what you do
we have a lens that's probably trained on you
beyond the ozone layer and looking down
or in the centre of the nearest town
in the car in the backlit dawn
sitting at the computer with the skype turned on

Chorus 1
extension of playtime
through nightime to daytime
while maxxed to the red-line
to escape the bread-line
while walking a fine-line
to meet with the deadline
that will furnish the headline
to feature on PRIME TIME

Bridge 1
prime PRIME TIME,
ooh PRIME TIME
prime PRIME TIME,
ooh ooh ooh

Verse 2
we'll get the longest zoom that's known to man
then we'll play surveillance in our baker's van
we'll site ourselves in the perfect spot
the newest place we find where things get really hot
let the motors send the shutters fly
who'll be the one before the blinking eye
once captured there is no escape
imprisoned by the digits or a piece of tape
released to the ransom at the bidding war
he who pays the piper is the editor
only he knows how far he's Prepared to go
but knows he'll lose the story if he stays too low

Chorus 2
extension of playtime
through nightime to daytime
while maxxed to the red-line
to escape the bread-line
while walking a fine-line
to meet with the deadline
that will furnish the headline
to feature on PRIME TIME

Bridge 2
prime PRIME TIME,
ooh PRIME TIME
prime PRIME TIME,
ooh ooh ooh

Chorus 3
while we're drinking our fine wine
through nightime to daytime
we're maxxed to the red-line
now well clear of that bread-line
we tiptoed that fine-line
and met with the deadline
that furnished the headline
that featured on PRIME TIME

Bridge 3
prime PRIME TIME,
ooh PRIME TIME
prime PRIME TIME,
ooh PRIME TIME
prime PRIME TIME,

Outro
prime PRIME TIME

Comment:- This lyrical idea was inspired by the media frenzy and the ever Present perceived thirst for news to be up-to-the-minute and zappy! I often wonder just how much of the news is just created...call me the cynic!!
